Dr Glykeria Karagouni is a full-time Assistant Professor of Innovation and Production Technologies teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, in the fields of Furniture Production Technologies, Operations Management, Technology – Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Management at the Department of Wood and Furniture Design and Technology of the Technological Education Institute of Thessaly, Greece (University of Applied Science of Thessaly, Greece). She is a Mechanical Engineer (Ph.D., M.Sc., B. Eng.) with a PhD in Knowledge-Intensive Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Production Technologies from the National Technical University of Athens.
Her research interests are in the areas of Production Technologies, Production Management and Innovation Management of low-tech industries, Technology Management, Strategic Management and Dynamic Capabilities Theory, Entrepreneurship and bio-economy with a further focus on SMEs, low-and-medium-tech industries, family business and internationalization. Her research has been published in several scientific journals such as EuroMed Journal of Business, Competitiveness Review, World Review of Entrepreneurship, Management and Sustainable Development, J. International Business and Entrepreneurship Development, International Journal of Innovation and Regional Development και European Journal of Innovation Management, among others and it has been presented in a number of international conferences. She has more than 70 publications and presentations in refereed journals and conferences. She is a member, reviewer, trach chair and discussant at international conferences and a reviewer in a number of international scientific journals.
Dr Karagouni has a significant experience in industry; she has been a Technical Director for 8 years in Textiles and Furniture Industry, Project Manager in 307 Army Aviation Technical Support Group, Directorate of Studies (and Research) (for 7 years), and a freelancer industry consultant. As a member of the University of Applied Science of Thessaly (since 2005), she acts as a consultant to various companies in the manufacturing industry in Greece and Cyprus.
